In Gen 3:4 Satan tells Eve that God does not want them to eat of the apple because it will make them like God. That was the beginning of this idea..that we don’t need God..that we can do it all without him through our minds.

Oprah’s talking about it. Larry King is talking about it. It’s made headlines around the world. It’s The Secret, a movie about a popular new philosophy that claims to hold the keys to health, wealth, happiness and the life you truly want.

Rhonda Byrne, the producer, describes “the secret” as the universal law of attraction, the concept that our thoughts and feelings align with vibrations in the universe to attract the things we want to us. Other proponents of “the secret” describe the universe as a shopping basket or a restaurant, claiming that all we have to do is place an order for the things we want with our thoughts. Though there’s more to it, the basic idea is that by controlling our thoughts, we can control our lives.

Is there really a universal law of attraction governing the way our lives work?

We recognize that the laws of physics govern the workings of the world around us. Those laws have natural consequences built into them. For example, no one would think of jumping off a building and not expect serious negative consequences for attempting to defy the law of gravity. On the other hand, those same laws, carefully followed, allow us to fly airplanes and explore the universe.

The same God who set the laws of physics in motion to govern His creation, also established spiritual laws to guide our lives. Just like the laws of physics, God’s spiritual laws have natural consequences built in—positive results when we live in harmony with them and negative results when we try to go against them.

God intends us to live full, abundant lives (see John 10:10). However, He promises blessings to those who obey Him and keep His commandments and not to those who just “magically” and gullibly think about them. Deuteronomy 28 is known as the blessings and curses chapter because it outlines the blessings God promised for obedience to His laws and the curses that result from disobedience.

The idea of blessings and curses often conjures an image of God sitting in heaven with a lightning stick of some kind. Some imagine Him intently watching our every move, waiting for an opportunity to either zap us for breaking His law or occasionally to send a blessing in return for obedience. But that’s not the way it works.

God’s laws are principles that lead to a happy, healthy life now and an even greater future in the Kingdom of God. Obedience to the divine laws naturally brings blessings. For example, when we refuse to lie, we build trust in our relationships with our friends and family, and our lives are happier as a result. Likewise, breaking God’s laws brings negative consequences, in much the same way that attempting to defy the law of gravity does.

God set up His laws so that they work whether a person knows Him or not. If those who don’t know God can benefit from obedience to His laws, how much more good can obedience do for a person who has an active relationship with Him?

But remember this, the real secret to happiness and success is not to align our thoughts with the vibrations of the universe, but to align our lives with the laws of our loving Creator God.

The truth about “the Secret” is the same thing The Lord has been saying to everyone for lo since the time he was on Earth and rose from the dead, except now here come Bryne and now we can do it without God, or without the knowledge that  you will go to hell if you refuse the free gift of eternal salvation, repent and turn away from sin, and be cleansed, if if it takes you years to get away from a single sin, keep confessing and turn to God, not some blasted book, that tells you that God is this universe, or that same garbage satan said to eve in the garden.

There is a literal hell, please, please don`t go there.

Getting sick of these sins, three of them, sex, smoking and alcohol.

Hatred, according to the bible is that spirit behind murder.

This morning, I wake up and went to the place where I usually do to catch the train.

A black appears, as I was verbally expressing my thoughts about the political agendas, in my own opinions.

This person began, with a load of garbage, about how Caucasians hate blacks, and kept interjecting me and this and then that, there was no way to win with this person because the only way to win, would be to simply knock him out. He was totally ignorant and the way he spoke was way out of line.

I have nothing against them, personally, just care for such views.

This is twice, this happened and it seems that every time I encounter a black male, and even a female it`s the same craps all over again,violence, whites are to blame and other behaviors which indicate that many (not all) black Americans are severely skewed concerning, several issues, which I will not mention here, because it will stir up strife.

No actual record exists, that indicates where each race originated from other than that related to Noah`s sons and daughters.

“These Blacks”, (that is a certain percentage) enjoy throwing their jingoistic mentalities on others, they are simply just a pain.

The greater percentage are, however a lot more intelligible than their counterparts and more peaceable, but usually relate to others in terms of respect. Biblically this is true. and in another part with god there is no respect of persons.

fact of the matter is, weather these people or anyone else for that matter originated from another planet or not, they are still sinners and desperately need Christ.

Good Morning!

It`s 5am, you have just come from San Francisco`s horrid shelter, in Hunter`s Point and you walk downtown to find that there are events that have coffee, and pastries.

A nutcase tells you to go up there and talk to the people, before you can do anything as if he owns the whole blasted world.

I have a membership here, you say.

The refreshments are for volunteers, and swimmers, this goof ball has no idea, his brain is off kilter!

So, after a pastry in one hand and my gym bag in the other I walk up to the steps and they tell me, they are all going to swim in the bay.

Oh lovely I think to myself, isn`t there BIG fish out there? Don`t sharks eat because they are hungry?

Say goodbye to your wife of 10 years!

I don`t understand why people do these kinds of things, risk their life just to swim…only to get eaten by a great white!

It`s their domain, and these fish have to live, and the only way they do that is by killing.

Dumb, just plain dumb. Hey let`s go surfing to, there`s no fish out there…let`s go!

Well, as it went I got a cup and two pastries, and came back around 9am and got another…all free!
